The mustang seat is a bit wide for my little guy so he cannot reach the stock location of the passenger footrests. It’s not just about rider comfort….or is it? Your passenger is still a rider right? HHhhmmm…

Anyway, it was decided -by me, that we need to make the bike comfortable for him too. So I went and bought Kuryakyn 4 inch offset extenders (part# 4559) to give him the reach he needs, or lack of what he had perhaps. These need a bike specific splined adapter, for the VTX 1300R it’s Kuryakyn part# 8818. I already had the Kuryakyn ISO Wings but of course the adapters that mount these to the bike are a different width that what will fit in the offsets so I had to buy yet another Kuryakyn part to get them on. (part# 8008)

Here are the before and afters. Probably need some fine tuning on positioning but I think they will work out just fine.

It’s highly recommended you DO NOT put full weight on these to mount the bike.

The nice thing I like about these is that with a quick turn of a wrench I can readjust them for the wife – if I end up needing to. I will be holding onto the Kury adapter that mounted the ISO Wing right to the bike, eventually I suspect I won’t need these offsets. Maybe I’ll keep the offsets on as they have 360 rotation availability. Now to just wait for some good weather to try them out. Living in New England and wanting to ride is tough… Don’t mind the dirty bike pics, we went for a short ride yesterday to get a Scavenger Hunt picture and the roads were wet from melting snow.
